A Day in Budapest! 🇭🇺

On a random Sunday afternoon, I was meeting Ila and Alyssa at their dorm to have dinner later. As soon as I walk in the door they tell me "We're going to Budapest in two days", my response was obviously "I'm down". The ticket to Budapest, Hungary came out to around $40 and with the hotel the total for our trip was $55. We were only going to be staying for 18 hours. We left Copenhagen at night and got in to Budapest close to midnight and stayed until the evening. Although it was super short it was super great to experience Budapest and walk the streets (we walked over 15 miles!)

Budapest is known for being the Bath Capital of Europe so of course we had to go and experience the thermal baths! It was so amazing, there were indoor and outdoor baths, the place was soooo huge. There were many indoor baths that ranged in temperature, some boiling hot, lukewarm, cold, etc. The outdoor baths were all warm and it was so nice and relaxing, definitely a must-do if you go to Budapest.

After walking a TON, we finally made it to one of the biggest tourist attractions, the Fishermans Bastion! It was so beautiful, you had a view of the city of Budapest, beautiful architecture. We got so lucky that it was a beautiful day!

Matthias Church was next on the list for our sight seeing. The entrance fee for the church was a bit much but it was so worth it! I have never seen such a beautiful church and you could even walk and explore all around it.

The last stop for the day was Central Market Hall which had a bunch of different food vendors and souvenirs. The bottom floor consisted of butchers, snacks, vendors selling produce, etc. While the upstairs had really nice souvenirs and street food! The street food was so interesting and delicious, it was all authentic Hungarian street food which was so amazing to experience.
