First Week of Classes + Malmö, Sweden

markdu5

Today is the first week of classes! I am taking four modules while I am abroad at Copenhagen Business School. The classes/schedule is a bit different at CBS, there are 3 types of classes: Q1, Q2, and Semester classes. Q1 goes from late August - mid October, Q2 goes from mid October - mid December, and Semester classes goes from late August - early December. So this semester I am taking Brand Management (Q1), Introduction to Platform Business and Organization (Semester), Marketing - The Trend Drivers and Essentials (Semester), and Behavioral Finance (Q2). The classes are very different at CBS, the learning is a lot more independent and more reading focused. You are tasked with a certain amount of reading to prepare and then you go to lecture where they go over what you read, it's a bit different than UH. The architecture and the aesthetic of the buildings in CBS is SO cool I was amazed on my first day of classes.

Along with going to classes for the week, me and my friends continued to explore the beautiful city of Copenhagen! Denmark has done an excellent job in managing Covid cases and their vaccination rates are above 80%! I was a bit shocked when I arrived, but NO ONE wears a mask and everything is completely open such as bars, clubs, restaurants, etc. The first picture is from a GoBoat that we rented to see more of the city through the many canals throughout Copenhagen. We got super lucky because it was super sunny and perfect for a boat ride (very rare for Copenhagen). The middle picture is of me and one of my Danish friends, Caroline at a fancy restaurant. This was our first time eating out in Denmark mainly because it is so expensive to eat out). The last photo is of my friends Ila and Lydia at the metro before a fun night out :)

This same week, my main group of friends Alyssa, Ila, Rory, and Lydia planned a spontaneous day trip to Malmö, Sweden! Malmö is very close to Denmark so it was only a 1 hour long bus ride and the ticket was very cheap. Sweden was so beautiful, we were able to explore all over Malmö, we definitely wanna go back to Sweden to explore more of the bigger cities, but it was still a fun trip!

Again, i'll be linking my friend Lydia's Youtube channel because it better sums up our experience in a more fun way :)
